10-16-15

10-16-15

Still at work, but it's all good.

Today was a good taco Tuesday erryday for lunch with Mel, Wayne, and Dee.  Nothing really out of the ordinary today per se, but I did get to see some cool planes fly overhead for this weekend's air show.  It's great to live near an airbase so you can see them as they fly overhead.

I'm considering starting the bottlecap project.  Gaby, Meredith, Shane, Susy, and several others have been so awesome saving some, and I've "restricted" myself to green caps for the house so I can get started.  I do need to get some supplies from lowes but that may wait til tomorrow...

Lots of stuff on my mind, but not letting it take too much headspace.  Chatted with Abby today and that's always fun.  A taco Tuesday plan is to happen soon.  Muahahaha.

Had the first parent/teacher conference at Emma's new school and the teacher is pretty cool.  Afterwards, as I walked Emma and her mom to their car, asked Emma if she knew the rest of the lyrics as I started "Princes of the Universe".  She did not disappoint one bit. :)

Sometimes, hanging on is worth a chance, and other times, it's good to know when to say when.  That's an instance right now and it's a self worth realization.  I read that it's ok to question what we want, but never question your worth.  There's truth to that.

It's been a pretty good week.  It's nothing to do with lowering standards or expectations other than taking what comes and rolling with it.

If you can't find some happiness, then make your own.

I think this is another reason I've dug down and started painting and cutting and sawing and hammering.  There's joy in seeing others' joy.  There's comfort in giving others comfort.

And there's a peacefulness in channeling peace.  I'm part libra so having balance is good and I know it's not always there, but life balances itself out.  That's what I choose to believe.

Have a great weekend :)

10/15/15

10/15/15

Today has been a good day so far, and truly, every day is a good day one way or another.

Woke up, got to see Sirius when Mary dropped Emma off as got a picture.  There was fog in the AM... But rather than fog, it's really a chance to walk on and in the clouds.

Last night, I didn't want to go home right away after work.  It happens when I don't have the minion.  So detoured to Half Price Books. The cute friendly girl was there and they had to fold shirts... Star Wars shirts at that... So I helped and they have a discount.  Anyway, cool shirts :)

This morning started out happy with a video message from a friend and that start my day with awesomeness.  Might not seem much to some, but for me... Enjoying the moments

It's now Thursday.  Went to a friend's family member funeral.  I listened to the music and the words given by the pastor and read what was projected on the TV and it adds to being awakened.  What we want is not always what we need, and what we need isn't too far out of reach... May just need to wait for that whisper or sign.

"A butterfly does not count the months, but the moments, and has time enough"

She was married for 47 years.  I dreamed of being married 50+ years like some other relatives and celebrate... But more and more lately, the message I receive is don't count the months...

The days...  Count the moments.  Live in the moment.  So now while I look and wait for my best friend, that's something to keep in mind.

Have a beautiful day, all of y'all.

10/14

"Ain't nothin' gonna to break my stride / Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh-no / I got to keep on movin'"

Drove to work this morning listening to Queen's Princes of the Universe.  We were born to be princes of the universe...

Yesterday was a day.  It was a great day, actually.  Work went well.  My boss is hilarious but awesome.  Ninja skills involved, my friend in Abilene received her surprise and that made me smile.  Subtle moments can cause ripples on your day but all the same, it's always a plus.

A lot of stuff going on and sometimes you just have to be a friend.  That's how yesterday was with two other friends.  I went through stuff 20 years ago around this time and it was at college station.  Of all places, my friend that helped me was in New Hampshire.  You don't have to be face to face to be one.  You can reach out.

Also got some Beatles vinyl records and a Queen cd set :) the record place will save me the next Sgt Peppers to come in.  Excited for that project to start...

In any case, take it all in stride.

Have a great day.

And if it ends up not great, have a good one.  If it ends up not being a good one, have a day.  You'll have friends somewhere praying for you.  At least one in Texas will.

Some People - Flavia Weedn

Some People

By Flavia Weedn

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

Some people come into our lives
and quickly go...Some stay for a while
and embrace our silent dreams.

They help us become aware
of the delicate winds of hope...
and we discover within every human spirit
there are wings yearning to fly.

They help our hearts to see that
the only stairway to the stars
is woven with dreams...
and we find ourselves
unafraid to reach high.

They celebrate the true essence
of who we are...
and have faith in all
that we may become.

Some people awaken us
to new and deeper realizations...
for we gain insight
from the passing whisper of their wisdom.

Throughout our lives we are sent
precious souls...
meant to share our journey
however brief or lasting their stay
they remind us why we are here.

To learn...to teach...to nurture...to love.

Some people come into our lives
to cast a steady light
upon our path and guide our every step
their shining belief in us
helps us to believe in ourselves.

Some people come into our
lives to teach us about love...
The love that rests within ourselves.

Let us reach out to others
and feel the bliss of giving
for love is far richer in action
than it ever is in words.

Some people come into our lives
and they move our souls to sing
and make our spirits dance.

They help us to see that everything on earth
is part of the incredibility of life...
and that it is always there
for us to take of its joy.

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

10/13/15 Day 1

This is the start of a journal.  You'll probably be tired of seeing my face.  Lol but this is for me

And you're more than welcome to stay and stuff :)

Born again.

It is a new day.  As with every day, a new chance.  Life is funny and I choose to smile with her.

I've read and learned that I have to love myself before I can love others or expect others to love me.  Oddly, and obviously, the one I've lived with the longest is and will always be myself... Yet I've had struggles.  But with serenity, prayer, and friends, I've learned there's peace... And there's happiness.  And there's a difference in the two.  I choose peace.  In the shower today, and as Linkin Park says, against my will I stand beside my own reflection, and as with a dear friend, had a heart to heart.

Being born again can be spiritual, a lifestyle change or mindset...

So here's to picking  today as Day 1.

All I needed to learn,...

Robert Fulgham wrote a most wonderful book.  All I needed to know I learned in Kindergarten.

Really good book.

But for those addicted to a game few know...

1. Sharing is caring.  When you share, you grow.  As a person.  In the game, sharing resources helps others grow their cities and it forms a stronger clan.

2. Take turns.  Sometimes, being first isn't all that.  And there are always other opportunities popping up.  Like tiles.

3. There are others behind the curtain.  Face to face, there's always someone and in general people are good.  What you do or say can go a long way.  So don't execute a person.

4.  Strength in numbers.  You do better as a team or family than being a lone wolf.  Make alliances.

5.keep your word.  Say what you mean, mean what you say.  It helps against counter attacks too.
